Even with :icondarkshockbro: was no longer here, it's important that we give ourselves advices to support each other. I'll be sparing some of my owns to you fellow writers.

Is having bad stories was a bad thing? I think not. Bad stories can teach us valuable skills to put into our future, better stories. Let's take two of my bad owns for example.

Total Drama Pokémon Adventure was the first long length story I've ever written. I started writing this after planning it out on Excel. It'd excited me so much that I had to write this. So I've been writing non-stop for several chapters until I reached around chapter twelve. It was getting harder to write and I wasn't feeling the fire anymore. So after about three years of writing, I'd cancelled the story. It's filled me with shame for not finishing it. But I knew that I have to move on and write other stories. It had also taught me some valuable lessons that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Don't write stories based on Excel.

Making stuff on Excel is a hobby of mine. I use it to create elimination tables for other stories or to organize stuff. After spending a month making TDPA on Excel, I turned it into a story; a story far too long for me to take. An estimated total number of chapters by the end of that story would've been over two hundred. And with each chapter lasting at least six thousand words, it'd be impossible for me to succeed.

If you're going to write a long length story, make sure it's come from your heart.

Sometimes, less is more. Shorter moments and shorter words can have a massive impact on the story.

Remember that journal about Ed, Edd, n Eddy competing on Total Drama? I had thought about writing this but TDPA had reminded me that I have to be careful about creating new stories. When a story appears, you'd be giving the readers hope. You have to be sure to not to give them false hope by writing several chapters, only to cancelling it later on. There are some good stories online, but some of them are either on hiatus or has been cancelled.

My other story, Pokémon Hunger Games had repetitive chapters. They were dragging out the plots and wasting valuable reading times. It also had forty-eight contestants, far too many for me to handle. :iconcragmiteblaster: Tween Tour was a good example.

Our bad stories can create a path to a better life. With every story we'd write, we develop new skills. With each new skill we'd learn, our stories will become stronger. :iconcragmiteblaster: Total Drama Letter Starz and Brains Vs. Brawns are good examples.

Well, that's it for my advices. If I can think of anything more, I'll mention it in the next journal. Until then, see ya!

Oh, and one more thing. To be a writer, you have to read, read, read and write, write, write.
  • Listening to: Pokemon Shalour City
  • Reading: The Undead
  • Watching: Ed Edd n Eddy
  • Playing: Danganronpa 1
  • Eating: Chocolate Muffins
  • Drinking: Milk
