Now that Kanto Catastrophes was finished, I can divulge informantion and facts about him you didn't know during the show! Thank you again for selecting this guy to be part of your show! You did well bringing him to life!

From here to the audition tape, these were the information I submitted to as Alan's audition. It's possible a few here may not reached the final draft, but I can assure you that everything's here about Alan is true. If you guys have any question, don't be afraid to ask away!

BIOGRAPHIES

Name – Alan

Age – 24

Gender – Male

Top 5 Pokemon Types – Ground, Flying, Grass, Fire, Dark.

Personality – Alan is the mafia boss of his group called the Underminer. His ruthlessness for his enemies, the ability to dodge bullets (both literally and metaphorically), his determination and his compassion for his co-workers are what makes him a great boss to the group.

However, because he was born with almost complete loss of visions, his parents forbid him to go on his Pokemon adventure. Despite their good intentions, it caused Alan to become stubborn and have the desire to prove people wrong.

He’s never use blind stick as he rely on his other four senses to guide him. But he had to have other people to read something he can’t see. His almost complete loss of eyes sight has hindered him every now and then. He hate it when he couldn’t understand what’s going on. If there’s something that he believe he could achieve, his stubbornness won’t make him stop until he either achieve it or fall down hard. His stubbornness sometimes clouded his mind and it turn into guilt if something happen to someone he cares about because of him.

He’s afraid of swimming because his lack of sight could bring him to panic and drown.

Should anything effect his hearing, it could bring him to paranoia as he often rely on his hearing to get around. If anyone try to make a sneak attack on him, he’s most likely to break someone’s limbs.

Despite his history, he does have a brighter side. Listening to children shows all the time when he was a kid had always make him laugh. It also allows him to fill his mind with infinite imagination, which would probably explain how did he managed to get out several impossible choices.

His desire for adventure has allows him to become independent and make him feel he’s living.

He loves Pokemon as he’s always fascinated by the varieties of species. Sometimes, he imagine they jumped out of cartoons and come to life.

Likes – Hanging out at Slowpoke Well. Smoking an occasional cigar. Listening to a good cartoon show. Caring for Pokemon. Adventure. Listening to music. People who never give up until the end. Colourful people who makes him laugh. (Basically, anyone like Krystal or Izzy)

Dislikes – Silence. Seeing someone’s hurting vulnerable people/Pokemon. People’s telling him he can’t do anything. Swimming. Not to be able to hear anything. Making impossible choices. Fart jokes.

Strengths – Hearing, Perseverance, Ruthlessness, Compassion, Bravery, Imagination.

Weaknesses – Blindness, Stubbornness, Swimming, Paranoia, Guilt.

Background – Some babies are born happy and healthy. It’s not the case with Alan. He was born with almost complete loss of eyes sight because it passed down from his grandmother’s genes. It’s took a while, but by the age of five, he learned to live his life using his other four senses. His parents were proud of him for already defying the odds against his disability. From there, their uneasiness had decreased and the chance for him to become a Pokemon Trainer had increased.

Then one day when he was seven, he stumbled into a tall grass and get attacked by a herd of Rattata. He was send to the hospital being suffered from multiple scratches and bite marks. It had frightened him, but his parents were frightened even more. They were worried that even if he had a Pokemon with him, he could still suffer from a surprise attack. They’ve decided that he wouldn’t be a Pokemon Trainer when he’d turned ten.

This had upset him as he wanted to be one to prove himself he had what it take to become a Pokemon Master. He begged them to change their minds, but to no avail. Normally, the professor was required to give someone their first Pokemon. However, when it come to someone with a disability, it was a whole another story. That was the last straw for him.

As years passed by, he became hardened. All his friends had left for own adventures and he suffered bullying at school. He learned how to be independent, but drifted himself away from his parents. The only member of family he loved at that point was his aunt; his father’s sister. She sided with him when he said he was ready to be a Trainer. She always knew how much potentials he can offer. She tried to change Alan’s parents’ mind but no luck. By sixteen, he decided to live with his aunt in Azalea Town as he want to lead an independent live. He ignored his parents’ argument and left with his aunt.

At first, his aunt didn’t like the idea, but then understood the reasons. She took him under her wings and taught him to participate in a Pokemon battle with her Pokemon.

At one point, he listened to his aunt’s threatening someone about the money’s whereabouts. He discovered that his aunt had lead a double life as his aunt and a Mob Boss. He didn’t knew what to react at first, but then eventually decided to work with her to make something out of his life. He’s grown to enjoy life in Johto and the Mafia. While he haven’t spoken to his parents since Kanto, it didn’t bother him much as he thought they were holding him back. He developed a taste in cigars after trying one out. He’s only smoke in special occasions. He came out as gay by seventeen and he strugged it off as if it was just as relevant as brushing his teeth.

With his aunt’s getting older and had no children, he took on a role as her heir. So by twenty three, he was in charge of the business.

He and his friends/business associates had travelled to Kanto to have a ‘meeting’ with a different group. One of his friends pointed out a poster for Poke Drama Region Trotter.

Since he’d have never been on a Pokemon adventure, he decide to apply for the show to finally have the experience and to prove to his parents that he’s just as capable of becoming a Pokemon Trainer as anyone else. Plus a million dollar would be a bonus.

AUDITION TAPE

(The video started with an extreme close up to Alan’s sunglasses. He removed them, revealing his distorted brown eyes)

Alan: You’re still here? Then you’re not a spineless coward after all. Zoom back the camera please?

(The camera zoomed back, revealing Alan’s sitting in a leather chair with a cigar in his hand. He was sitting in an office beside his desk)

Alan: I’m blind if you didn’t figured it out by now. Always has been since I was born. Did that stop me? Not at all. (He took a puff of his cigar and smoke exited from his mouth as he resumed talking) Nothing stop me from being a boss. So let’s get to it. My name is Alan and I want to enter your show so I can make my mark in this world. (He closed his eyes) People in the past said I can’t be a Pokemon Trainer because they thought I would fall off a cliff or get mauled to death.

Well, no more! (He slammed a fist to his desk, emitting a small echo in the room) I’m going to set the records straight by starting my own journey with a Pokemon by my side. (He was going to speak more when he heard a door opened and someone stepped inside)

Unknown Man: Sir, we need your-

Alan: (Using his ears to hear where the man was, he turned his chair to the front and stood up, masking an enraged expression on his face) DO NOT INTERRUPTED MY AUDITION! (He pointed his finger at him) Leave…

(He heard him ran out of the room and slam the door shut)

(He sat down and stick his cigar in his mouth. His eyes shifted to his right, assuming that what where the camera was)

Don’t edit this out. (He removed his cigar from mouth, puffing smokes towards the camera) I’m sure it’ll be enough to intrigue the producers. Well, I think this audition has come to a conclusion. Accepted me or not, I’ll end this with a quote. “I’ll be the very best. (He showed a smirk) Like no one ever was.”

FUN FACTS

Had Alan became a Ground or a Flying Type Trainer, I would've let him has Gligar as his starter Pokemon. I always pictured this guy as a Gliscor. Having them both wearing matching suits and smoking a cigar would've been brilliant!

His Fire Type starter would've been Houndour while Treecko would've been his Grass Type starter.

His original name was Randall. I changed it to Alan because Randall sounded too similar to Randy on Total Drama Do Over.

He was originally going to be in charge of a different Mafia gang. I'd like the idea of his gang could headbutt with Team Rocket. However, wanted him in Team Rocket because there were a lot he can do with him there. So what's my answer? "He can be in Team Rocket if it mean he can stay longer than the first elimination." Looking back now, it's obvious I made the right choice.

I chose Murkrow as Alan's starter Pokemon as a reference to Dark Amphithere's Honchkrow. As she was one of my favourite characters in that series, I had to do it!
